What Plain Fax does

Plain Fax sends one-off outbound faxes to US fax numbers from your iPhone. There are no accounts. You pick a document, enter a number, pay through Apple, and we send it.

What we collect

• The document you choose to fax.
• The recipient fax number you enter.
• A random device ID the app generates on your iPhone. It is not tied to your name, Apple ID, or any account.
• Apple purchase verification data (the transaction ID) so we can confirm a fax was paid for.
• Fax status records: page count, delivery status, failure reason, and timestamps.

We do not ask for your name, email address, or contact list.

Who receives your data

To transmit a fax, your document and the recipient number are sent to Telnyx, a third-party telecommunications carrier. Telnyx handles that data under its own terms and privacy policy. Apple processes your payment. We never see your card or Apple ID details.

How long we keep it

Your document is stored for at most 24 hours and then deleted. We delete it sooner once the fax is delivered or fails for good. Fax status records and purchase verification records are kept so we can run the service, handle resends, and prevent abuse. Your fax history on your phone stays on your phone until you delete it.

No tracking

Plain Fax has no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking. We do not sell or share your data for marketing.

Not for health information

Plain Fax is not HIPAA compliant. Do not fax protected health information.

Deleting your data

To request deletion of data tied to your device, email [email protected] and include the device ID shown in the app's Settings screen. We cannot find your records without it.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new effective date.
